Describing personal attributes

He tangata + pūmanawa + ia or + tōku tangata rongonui
He tangata marae ia.  Welcoming is he/she.
He tangara oukumahi tōku tongata rongonui.  A hard worker is my famous person.
He tangata tino rawe is.  Very awesome is he/she.
He tangata nohopuku tāku tane.  A couch potato is my husband!




Order the sentence - focus on the doer of action...

I hanga a Anaru i te whare.  Built Anaru the house.
becomes...
Nā Anaru te whare i hanga.  Anaru the house built.

I kihi a Jack i te wahine.  Kissed Jack the girl.

You could add the mahi at the end.
Ka haere au ki ngā toa kātahi ka haere au ki tatahi ki te moe.
I will go to the shops then I will go to the beach to sleep.

With a buddy, hide your hand behind your back, then pull out a finger (doesn't sound so good!)
